Investment Highlights
Earth Energy Resources’ groundbreaking technology uses a catalyst substance to cost-effectively separate hydrocarbons from tar sands and oil shale. The process removes 98% of hydrocarbons, and has little or no environmental impact. It can be used to remove hydrocarbons from contaminated soil (found at oil refineries, service stations or in storage tanks).
We are convinced that the time is ripe for technology like ours. While other extraction methods are expensive and environmental hazardous, ours is efficient and environmentally friendly. The economic potential is staggering! With soil reclamation costs of $45 to $75 per tonne, profit margins could be in the tens of millions.
To understand the significance of this breakthrough it is important to understand traditional tar sand technology. The process has changed little since the 1930’s and the only commercial plants, located in Alberta Canada, use a hot water steam process to release oil from the sand. The plants needed to upgrade the reclaimed oil are expensive (accounting for 90 percent of capital costs) and the process generates massive toxin-filled tailing ponds. These traditional plants are considered one of the world’s worst air polluters and the US Bureau of Land Management has said it would be impossible to secure approval for a conventional Canadian process plant in the USA.
The Earth Energy Process uses a catalyst - rather than toxins and mechanics - to release hydrocarbons from sand. The catalyst extracts the hydrocarbon naturally.
Our technology is designed around 1,000 BOPD daily extraction modules. These fully mobile modules can be assembled in three to four months and transported directly to the worksite, anywhere in the world. It is estimated that the creation of a turnkey operation using Earth Energy modules would cost $3 to $4 million US.
